Just thinking, a lot of your environments seems to have a "cave" like quality to them. There is layers and layers of accumulated material, hanging structures, pillars, columns of light coming from unseen openings. They are very heavy with texture, and I think it makes them gorgeous. Heck, even your caves look like caves!
Maybe cave isn't the right word, but you do create a lot of enclosed, or sequestered environments, with very dramatic light and shadows. I really enjoy your work, and this one is probably one of my favorites.
You're probably right...not sure if that's a good thing though. It's better to try out different stuff to avoid getting stuck in the same formula. Thanks for pointing that out, something I'll have to think about with future paintings. My next painting will be a cave again though, but that's because it's part of the assignment (challenge over at TheGnomonWorkshop)
Not necessarily meant as a criticism, I think I just happened to look at one of a cave, a forest, and a market, and I noted some similarities in the way the scene was constructed.
